Martin Audio joins the Dante network with CDD-Live

The CDD-Live series marks the first of Martin Audio’s products to support Dante as a digital network solution. The range comprises three full-range models in the CDD-Live 8, 12 and 15, along with two subwoofers: the CSX-Live 118 and 218.
The manufacturer’s CDD (Coaxial Differential Dispersion) technology provides the foundation for the CDD-Live range, reportedly allowing for consistent coverage and even sound delivery to an entire live audience. Martin Audio states that the systems achieve this by ‘projecting the sound evenly front-to-back, while exhibiting wide horizontal coverage close to the speaker’.
Alongside the Dante networking capabilities, stage setup and installation of each product is described as being simplified with Class-D amplification and DSP included onboard. Offering a frequency response of 70Hx to 20kHz and a maximum peak SPL of 123dB, the CDD-Live 8 is designed as a standalone loudspeaker with applications ranging from distributed sound reinforcement to front-fill to use as a micro stage monitor. Meanwhile, the CDD-Live 12 has been conceptualised to deliver sound to audiences over medium throw distances. It offers a frequency response of 62Hz to 20kHz and a maximum peak SPL of 128dB. The largest member of the family, the CD-Live 15, touts itself as ‘a system designed for professional live applications and installations that demand the ultimate in sonic performance’. It offers 132dB peak SPL and a frequency response of 55Hz to 20kHz.
The CSX-Live 118 and CSX-Live 218 subwoofers are said to extend the low frequency operating range of the combined system to 35Hz and feature either a single or double 18-inch driver and 4-inch voicecoil. The 218 model possesses a full operating range of 35Hz to 150Hz ±3dB.
