Martin Professional claims its new M6 desk is ‘more than just a lighting console’. The M6 has been designed to control everything from conventional and moving lights to the most advanced media server.
Incorporating an industrial multi-core processor, solid-state drives and custom-designed high-brightness touch screens, the console is capable of delivering up to 64 DMX universes directly from its onboard network ports. It also features a LiveBlender T-Bar, FastDial rotary encoders, Paired Playback buttons and BriteTouch display. A total of 44 playbacks are offered, including dual Main Go sections, 10 motorised faders and 12 additional faders, as well as a total of 17 encoders for parameter access.
Also new from the newly Harman Professional-acquired manufacturer is the Mac III Wash, the final luminaire in its Mac III family of moving heads.
The Mac III Wash features an internal barndoor system that enables designers to shape projection onto stages, performers, scenery, scrims or any set element. It houses a 1:4 fully linear zoom that requires no lens changes. According to the manufacturer, the Mac III Wash maintains ‘near full efficiency throughout the entire zoom range with no visible beam jump when zooming from tight to wide and no drop in lumens output’.
At over 50,000 lumens, output from the Mac III Wash matches that of conventional 2.5kW daylight Fresnel fixtures. It uses a 9-inch Fresnel lens with the additional optional clear PC lens. An enhanced CMY colour mixing system gives a wide range of choices across the spectrum plus a broad range of uniform pastels. A fixed color wheel houses seven interchangeable slots for an even broader colour range. The colour gamut is complemented with a variable CTO. The dimming system offers a choice of four dimming curves. It also includes a separate shutter for strobe effects as well as a total front lens blackout.
