MediorNet 2.0 adds video functionality

Providing video router and high speed re-routing functionalities, MediorNet 2.0 from Riedel has been released, forming the backbone of a series of additions to the product line. The family has also been expanded with the addition of the 2RU large-scale MediorNet MetroN core router. The unit provides a real-time routing capacity of 64x10G ports.

The last addition to the family is the Studer A-Link Card for MediorNet. This provides direct integration of MediorNet real-time networks with Studer consoles and cores to offer users I/O capacities in excess of 10,000 in a very small hardware footprint. The integrated system may be configured to provide a video and audio routing solution with de-embedded audio from the SDI streams being sent to the Studer consoles, with the return signals then embedded back into the video.

Away from the MediorNet family, the manufacturer has developed two new software platforms. AVB Manager is a manufacturer-independent software solution that provides generic AVB control for all IEEE 1722.1-compliant AVB devices. Providing a global overview of AVB infrastructures, the free software automatically detects and enumerates available AVB devices, supporting straightforward connection management via a graphical user interface.

In a final release, for users of the Artist Digital Matrix Intercom system, Riedel has designed a Virtual Key Panel application allowing smartphones and tables (iOS/Android) to perform the full functionality of the 12-key Artist control panels. The user operates the virtual control panel using the device's touchscreen interface that can be configured via Riedel's Director software.
