Mixing console technology in a compact audio interface

With the iD4, Audient is bringing the same mic pre technology found inside its ASP8024 Heritage Edition to a compact interface. Building on the success of its predecessor, the iD14, the iD4 is a compact, USB-powered desktop audio interface designed for musicians and producers to carry with them while on the road.
Housed within a casing made from solid steel and aluminium, the iD4 includes a pair of brand new features with its Monitor Mix and Monitor Pan facilities. Monitor Mix blends both of the interface’s inputs with DAW playback to low latency monitoring whilst recording. The Monitor Pan functionality works with both the mic pre and DI inputs, panning them from left to right and vice-versa to assist in the creation of a ‘balanced headphone mix’.
The iD4 also boasts a console-style monitor, dual headphone outputs, JFET and DI inputs, AD converters and the manufacturer’s ScrollControl virtual scroll wheel technology. ScrollControl is activated by pressing a button to switch the volume encoder to a virtual scroll wheel, allowing for manual adjustment of DAW hosts and plugin parameters as well as the ability to program automation.
