Moose Sound fires up the Quatro

Intended as a plug-and-play solution for a wide range of applications, Quatro is the latest PA system from Moose Sound, combining double 12-inch bandpass subwoofers and pole-mounted coaxial mid-high enclosures with onboard Class-D amplification.
Quatro is described by the manufacturer as a ‘versatile self-powered system’ with a ‘powerful Class-D amplifier coupled to a fully-programmable DSP’. The system’s low-end component is the Q212A, a bandpass sub with an 18mm birch plywood enclosure housing two 12-inch transducers with 4-inch voice coils. The passive coaxial Q206 mid-high units – driven by the Q212A’s amplifier – are each loaded with dual 6.5-inch transducers.
In terms of operation, the onboard DSP offers control over parameters including gain, PEQ, delay, mute, an output limiter, and a noise gate, while accompanying software allows the creation of as many presets as the user desires, up to five of which can be loaded onto the system for selection via the rear panel.
Finally, the Q206 enclosures are equipped with two M6 thread inserts to facilitate permanent installation using an optional wall-mount frame. Similarly, the Q212A sub can be deployed in either a vertical or horizontal configuration.
