MP500 MediaPro

Sencore improved its MP500 MediaPro handheld generator and HDMI analyser, making it faster and more effective at optimising operation of complex HDMI-based audio/video systems.

The battery-powered, portable unit provides multi-format and resolution A/V signal generation and HDMI analysis with a simple colour touchscreen inter face. New features include Cable Test, which uses pseudo-random noise to test HDMI distribution paths for bit errors, determining whether a problem is caused by the source, cable, display, or repeater. Cable Test makes it fast and easy to find formerly elusive problems in the HDMI system’s cables and devices, potentially saving an installer many hours of cable-by-cable or device-by-device testing.

A further enhancement is an expansion of the pattern generator to accommodate multichannel HDMI audio systems and to provide the patterns required for room acoustic measurement and analysis, including pink noise, impulse, polarity and sine waves. In addition, the MP500 comes with many new and unique static video patterns and a motion Zone Plate pattern for detecting video artefacts during video installations, with the ability to import custom test patterns (bitmaps), or an optional set of new ISF-approved test patterns.

The Klein K-10 Colorimeter analyses and measures light and colour to support the best possible image quality in high-end A/V systems, post production and digital cinema installations. It incorporates 5mm-by-5mm photodiodes, thermally stable components, precise spectral filters and a light mixing chamber to ensure that the photodiodes register the same light whatever the probe's circular orientation. The Klein K-10 works fast at extremely low light levels (.0001fL) with a sensor that takes 256 samples and resolves eight full meter updates every second.
