New compatibility and process for CEDAR Studio 6

Audio restoration specialist CEDAR Audio is making its latest plug-in collection, CEDAR Studio 6, both AAX Native and VST compatible, broadening its appeal to a wider range of DAW users running OSX 10.7 or Windows 7 onwards. The new bundle also includes three new processes derived from the renowned CEDAR Cambridge audio restoration system – Auto Dehiss, Declick and Decrackle.

Auto Dehiss is described by the manufacturer as an ‘algorithm that enables the software to determine the broadband noise content and remove it without the introduction of unwanted side-effects or artefacts’. The process also includes a manual mode for fine-tuning. Declick, one of the principle processes within the CEDAR Cambridge system, reportedly offers ‘better impulsive noise detection and a better interpolator’ than competing systems. Similarly, the Decrackle algorithm is based upon the technology that underpinned the CEDAR CR-1, the original and highly influential De-crackler hardware that was launched in the early 1990s.

Other processes included in the bundle include Adaptive Limiter 2, Debuzz, Declip, and DNS One (based on the manufacturer’s Academy Award winning dialogue noise suppression system). CEDAR is also offering an introductory offer on the bundle which will run until June 30th.
