New in-ears from Ultrasone

German headphone manufacturer Ultrasone is now shipping its Tio and IQ in-ear headphones, which incorporate a hybrid driver system featuring two sound transducers per channel. Both headphones are characterised by a robustness and metal housing striking design that combine to produce a distinctive look.
Tio is based on a hand-selected balanced armature driver which, as a broadband sound transducer ensures enjoyable highs together with a precise and present bass range and transparent mids.
The basis for the IQ is a two-way hybrid driver concept that calls on separate speakers for low-mid and high range frequencies. This combination of a balanced armature driver and a dynamic 8mm sound transducer makes the highs even sharper, resulting in a detailed frequency range from 17Hz to 21kHz. Detachable cables afford the user the option of using the IQ as a headset as well, as the cables are included in the package.
A 1.2m long audio cable with four-pin 3.5 mm stereo jack connects the Ultrasone Tio and IQ to MP3 players, tablets, notebooks and smartphones. Ultrasone has integrated a one-button remote as well as a voice-optimised microphone into the cable to receive calls while listening to music.
To further enhance the ease of use of the IQ and Tio with Android smartphones and tablets,
Ultrasone offers a free Android app on the Google Play Marketplace offering customised headset configuration allowing control of Android audio players such as Google Music. In addition to call management and audio player control, the Ultrasone app also digitally controls the volume.
