New loudspeakers and low price mixer-amps from Bosch

Bosch Communications has introduced the LB3-PC premium passive loudspeakers, which the manufacturer is describing as ‘ideal for applications where high-output, controlled dispersion, and wide frequency response are required for voice and music reproduction’.

The two-way loudspeakers boast weatherised moulded ABS enclosures with flexible mounting options, and are available in either a 12-inch, 250W configuration (the LB3-PC250) or as a 15-inch, 350W model. Both include overload-protected, 1-inch high-frequency drivers.

Also new is a budget-friendly range of mixer amplifiers under the Plena Easy Line brand, with the manufacturer promising ‘the essentials of professional public address in a stylish, competitively priced package’.

Describing the range as combining ‘an extremely simple user interface with premium paging and playback performance’, Bosch has announced three models, each of which boasts different power configurations – 60W, 120W and 240W. The power is reportedly directly available on 100V constant voltage connections and on a low-impedance connection for a 4ohm load. The amplifiers also have a separate 100 V call-only output channel for addressing areas where only priority announcements are required. The call-only output can also be used for three-wire remote volume control override.

Each model includes four switchable mic/line inputs plus phantom power, an integral limiter, an LED VU meter for the master output, individual volume knobs for microphone inputs, background music and a master knob, plus treble and bass adjustment.

Crucially, input channel one on each mixer amplifier will take priority over all other inputs is a user operates the PTT (push to talk) control, while a two-tone chime can be configured to precede an announcement.
