Next gen Q-Sys Cores double processing capability
Published: PRODUCTS

Doubling the processing capabilities of the models they supersede, the next generation of QSC’s Sys Enterprise Cores have arrived to along with a ‘significant feature upgrade’. The next gen series currently consists of the Core 1100 and Core 3100 models.
The Core 1100 will provide up to 256x Q-LAN network audio Flex-channels, while the Core 3100 will provide up to 512x512 fixed Q-LAN network audio channels, making them well-suited to manage extensive audio processing needs in larger deployments, such as conference centres, hospitality environments and transportation facilities.
To accompany the new cores, the manufacturer has also revealed that a software update, Q-Sys Designer 4.0, will soon be available providing further enhanced capabilities. Version 4.0 will include several new software features such as Core-to-Core paging – which allows individual cores to transmit messages across a campus-wide installation, Timeline Playback, plus a new Dynamic Threshold Auto-mixer.
Also included in the release are greater scripting capabilities as well as enhancements to existing features such as the Notch Feedback Controller, Scheduler, Acoustic Echo Canceller, I/O monitor and audio playback capabilities, which have been augmented to include Fast-Forward, Rewind and Synchronisation to LTC and GPS.
Marking the final update to the Q-Sys product family, QSC has also introduced its CDN64 Dante Bridge Card for the platform. The card provides third-party Dante enabled digital audio products the ability to connect and interface with Q-Sys while maintaining low latency.
The unit provides a bridge for 64 x 64 channels at 48kHz (32 x 32 channels at 96kHz) from any Dante edge network, directly into a QSC Q-Sys Core for processing and re-distribution over larger LAN and WAN infrastructures.
