No compromise on reference capability with AKGs IVM 4500

Designed to provide a high level of audio quality without compromising reference capability, AKG’s new IVM 4500 in ear monitor is said to be ‘ideally’ suited for engineers in tour and installed situations.

AKG states that the high level of audio achieved is due to the monitor’s diversified system, which includes ‘high-end’ radio electronic signals and a manual radio signal attenuator. Adding to its ease of use, meanwhile, is an enhanced frequency setup which displays the number of free channels and supported TV channels available, alongside the IVM 4500’s inclusion of quick frequency change functions – designed to support monitor engineers when needing to swiftly adjust settings mid-performance.

Contributing to the receiver’s stable signals is the inclusion of two matched antennas and a reference radio electronic design. The in ear monitor boasts a headphone amplifier, a linear frequency response, and the option of dual mode for an individual mix.

Completing the IVM 4500’s list of features is an SPR 4500 IEM diversity receiver, an SST 4500 IEM transmitter (adjustable to 10, 20, 50 and 100mW), and the inclusion of IP two ear-channel headphones. Antennas included comprise an SPC 4500 antenna combiner, an SRA 2 W directional antenna and a RA 4000 W omni-directional antenna. The in ear monitor offer bands one, three, four and nine, and battery life extends to 10 hours.

Another new offering from the manufacturer is the DMS 70 digital wireless microphone system, which boasts an uncompressed digital audio transmission capability, operating in the 2.4GHz ISM band (a worldwide licence-free range).

Reportedly suited for live and club sound, conferences, seminars, schools and universities, the DMS 70 package includes a DSR 70 receiver, a DPT 70 digital pocket transmitter, a DHT 70 digital handheld transmitter wireless mic, and a DSR 70 rack mount kit.

Said to facilitate ‘intelligent’ operation, the wireless microphone system features a ‘dynamic’ frequency selection and a bidirectional communication option between the transmitter and receiver.

The DMS 70 operates with AES 128-bit encryption, and all DMS 70 devices are available separately in the following packages: the Vocal Set Dual, Instrumental Set, Dual and Vocal/Instrumental Set Dual.
