NOA updates its mediaArc archive management system

NOA has announced the release of mediARC 1.6, an audio and media archive management system, which includes numerous upgrades when compared to the manufacturer’s previous version.

Improvements highlighted by NOA include fuzzy search algorithms, advanced sorting options, file attachment management over the Web, sharing of search definitions, and a complete API to the metadata content. The 1.6 version also features an enhanced active directory user replication application for large institutions.

Meanwhile, NOA’s IngestLine (for transcribing media content from analogue to digital format) has also benefitted from some updates. It now features new export profiles, better segmentation possibilities for pre-imported track-based metadata, and products for video-management. Additionally, the system includes updates specifically designed to eliminate the need for manual response in the case of error notifications.

Lastly, the manufacturers Job Database V3.0 has now been released for the Windows 7 platform. It now supports MSSQL 2008 and introduces new redirection parameters to enable cross hierarchy workflows. A vast collection of workflows can now be directly imported and exported from the Noa online Wiki. Job Database organises simple workflows in existing MAM environments.
