Ohm launches HGW install range subwoofers

Ohm’s HGW is a range of small profile subs that the manufacturer describes as ‘intended to be heard and not seen’. Ohm believes the current trend for high standard interiors in entertainment and leisure venues has created a demand for subs to be incorporated into furniture or under furniture without using valuable floor space. The manufacturer believes HGW will meet these needs.

There are three models in the HGW range. The HGW-8 is a band pass mini bass subwoofer with an 8-inch driver. The manufacturer reports it is ‘ideal for hiding away under a counter or in a ceiling space; anywhere where you have a slightly larger than 10-inch x10-inch space’.

The HGW-10 is a horn-loaded cabinet with a 10-inch driver in an enclosure 800mm x 425mm x 300mm. This long narrow sub design is described by Ohm as ‘ideal for placing under seats or banquettes and can be built into stages, steps and vertical columns, or under columns’. The sub is fitted with stacking feet for security in multiple arrays. Firing into a wall reportedly further enhances the bass performance.

The HGW-12 is a fourth order band-pass subwoofer. The 100mm forward facing port reportedly provides an even sound distribution for small areas and according to the manufacturer, when used in multiples, covers a large expanse without intrusion.

Using HGW in modern installation reportedly allows for an even sound distribution throughout the venue without unsightly speakers taking up floor space. Where the HGWs are in view, there are paint options for any colour needed to blend in with the décor.HGW subs are tuned to compliment most of the OHM range namely the KS , LB and BR series Mid tops.
