PDA-1000R Worx on Dante

The PDA-1000R sees WorxAudio Technologies integrate DSP and Dante audio networking technology into its latest power amplifier. The unit’s ability to create networkable Dante-enabled loudspeaker systems over LAN, featuring DSP controlled by the manufacturer’s WorxControl software, is provided by parent company PreSonus Audio Electronics’ Active Integration technology.

A two-channel, Class-D power amp that can be mounted directly into a standard equipment rack, the PDA-1000R reportedly offers 500W per channel and includes two onboard presets, a high pass filter, temperature, signal, -3dB, limit and clip indications and XLR input and pass thru. The manufacturer describes the Dante network capabilities of its amplifier as ‘a no hassle, self-configuring, true plug and play digital audio networking experience’.

The WorxControl application runs from a PC and provides the PDA-1000R with editing controls which allow for system customisation and enables compensation for room anomalies, creation of delay systems and feedback elimination, while catering for loudspeaker mapping. The software also includes 800ms alignment delay adjustable in 0.1ms increments, a limiter, a compressor and an 8-band parametric EQ, as well as selectable low/high shelving filters, eight notch filters, a low pass filter and metering for input level and gain reduction.
