Portable Zen from Antelope Audio

Zen Studio is being described by its manufacturer, Antelope Audio, as ‘the first portable audio interface with 20 analogue inputs, 12 mic preamps and DSP’.

Reportedly designed for ‘the modern day producer or engineer on-the-go’, the interface boasts the same acoustically focused clocking and custom USB technology implemented in the manufacturer’s flagship 32-channel Orion model, but in a more portable format and without Madi connectivity.

Zen Studio’s DSP is based on a custom FPGA device offering parallel processing, while its I/O is available simultaneously for a total of 38 possible input and 32 output channels, plus 24 I/O channels via USB, supporting 24-bit, 192kHz audio. Up to four independent zero-latency mixes can be assigned to any outputs, including the unit’s two independent headphone outputs and monitor outputs. Operation is via a desktop application for PC or Mac.
