Powersoft’s new solar-powered DEVA
Published: PRODUCTS
Powersoft has launched DEVA, a new multimedia device that integrates solar power, bi-directional wireless A/V communication, lighting and an efficient Class-D amplifier within a compact, weatherproof enclosure. The multifunctional device enables audio messaging and video capturing for a wide range of applications and is equipped with several sensors including a microphone, presence detector, twilight switch and temperature/humidity/pressure sensors together with accessories including LED lights.
The highly efficient design limits power consumption to the point of allowing uninterrupted use powered by the internal rechargeable battery. A solar panel can quickly recharge the battery even in low light conditions. On a single charge the unit can remain on stand-by for more than 18 days, providing up to 64 hours of continuous audio playback or 20 hours of lighting with the high-power white LED.
DEVA’s IP 65-rated moulded plastic enclosure is available in custom colours and has been specifically designed to protect the internal circuitry from exposure to temperature, humidity and dust making it ideal for outdoor applications. A wired Ethernet or short-range (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth)/long-range (GPRS) wireless connection allows DEVA to be configured and controlled on a device such as a tablet or smart-phone, or via a network-connected PC.
DEVA can be used in a wide range of applications, from BGM to paging, in combination with video and audio surveillance. With standard Wi-Fi 802.11n communication and green solar power rechargeable batteries on board, DEVA is independent from any existing infrastructure.
The Italian manufacturer has also expanded its Ottocanali Series, with the addition of three new eight-channel power amplifiers for fixed installations. Ottocanali 4K4, Ottocanali 8K4 and Ottocanali 12K4 have been designed to work at low or high impedance, can run at 2-ohms as a standard operational parameter and can power 70V and 100V distributed lines without the need for external transformers.
The Class-D amplifiers are capable of providing high output power. The 12K4 can produce up to 12,000W over eight channels. Each amplifier in the Ottocanali series has two universal switch mode power supplies with PFC (Power Factor Correction) each independently powering a set of four channels. In addition, SRM (Smart Rails Management) technology maximises the efficiency of the system, drastically reducing the power consumption at any load and usage condition.
