Quad DI-Box

Klotz ais has released a new, multi-functional Quad DI-Box that offers additional functions besides balancing. The device was designed for groups of instruments on stage and represents a sub-stagebox with DI functionality. The unbalanced instrument inputs provide a parallel amplifier output and are Neutik Combo style (combined XLR / Jack socket). By this way and actuating the changeover switch the inputs can be alternatively used as balanced XLR inputs.

Additionally the DI44 supplies four independent lines, assembled with two XLR-Female and two XLR-Male connectors. These directly wired channels can be used for Mic/Line level and returns (sub-stagebox). As a passive device without any electronics the DI44 requires no batteries or power supply.
A fixed connection cable (eight channels in total) to main stagebox completes the handling.

SMARTBeam is a new mobile FO connector designed for mobile use. Highlights of the connector include; hermaphroditic Expanded Beam Connector for harsh environments; non-directional coupling; no sensitive physical fibre contact; insensitive against dirt and easy to clean; and long-term steady insertion loss of 0.5dB (MM) / 1.5dB (SM). It is suitable for applications in military, industry, A/V and TV transmission.

The new 19-inch / 1RU termination box with Z-panel includes one or two Neutrik OpticalCon or SMARTBeam connectors. The termination box has raised bulkheads and is also space saving due to a 65° plug angle. The internal cable storage allows the exact length adjustment of both breakout cables which are available with LC, SC and ST connectors. The rear outlets for the breakout cables are supplied with strain reliefs.

The new modular installation system is a 19-inch self-assembly system with various connectivity options. It is based on four and eight-channel XLR modules which can be wired to multipin modules for eight to 32 channels. Due to the applied four-channel flat push-on connectors with quick-punch-down contacts it is also possible to connect already installed cables direct to XLR modules. The 19-inch frames with 2RU in height can carry four modules each in front and rear side, meaning 32 XLR connectors or four multipin connectors in maximum.

F-MF02F5U (Ultra) and F-MF02F5X (eXtreme) are new mobile fibre optic cables that meet the increased requirements in live operation. To meet requirements that exceed even military needs Klotz has launched the two new cable types with flame-retardant PUR outer jackets. Ultra features an increased tensile load and crush resistance, eXtreme takes this crush resistance further with the addition of a TPE inner jacket.
