RCF unveils new digital PA/VA system

The DXT 9000 voice-evacuation system is a completely scalable, fully digital PA/VA system. The distributed system in which every component, including the loudspeakers, has its own physical address, can be monitored according to the latest EN 54 standards, and can be configured after installation if necessary.

While paging and voice-evacuation are the primary uses for the DXT 9000, it can also be used to interface pro-audio active speakers through RCF’s RD-NET control and monitoring system. Active loudspeakers can be combined together with 70V/100V line Class-D+ amplifiers on the same dedicated network. The DXT 9000 boasts a double-ring topology, for which the first, simple ring is designed for small and medium-sized systems and the second ring has been designed for larger projects.

All digital amplifiers and active components are connected using RCF’s Flexicomm bus technology. For ease of installation, the majority of connections use twin-pair or four-pair J-Type fire-rated cable, while fibre-optics can also be used for longer distances, where the DXT 9000 can run over LAN or TCP/IP networks.

In the event of a failure in the input stage of the digital network, a ‘Fall Back’ feature automatically allows the DXT 9000 to receive a signal from a dedicated fire base-station microphone, ensuring that the safety of the protected facility is never compromised. The range currently comprises of the active MX 9500 and passive MU 9186 master units, three monitored Class-D+ digital power amplifiers (1 x 500W, 2 x 250W, or 4 x 125W), three paging mics (multi-zone, selective call and eight-zone extension) and the TS 9918 remote level control and program selector.

RCF are also now shipping its Acustica Compact ‘C’ Series of two-way passive systems. All four speakers in this series incorporate the manufacturer’s proprietary ‘CMD’ (Coverage Matching Design) technology, which helps the smooth transition between the HF horns’ polar responses and directivity of the LF transducers.

The compression drivers incorporate neodymium magnetic circuit technology, whilst the LF woofers can withstand peak power of up to six times the nominal power. The five Compact Series loudspeakers are equipped with high power handling, low impedance crossover designs with electronic protection on the driver. Constructed from Baltic birch plywood, the steel-reinforced cabinets come with perforated steel grilles and are finished in epoxy powder coated paint covered with polyurethane. The versatility of the speakers are enhanced by the addition of omni-mount 75 plate fixing positions on the rear of cabinets, 35mm standard internal pole mounts and mulitiple suspension points.

The C3108 consisting of a 1-inch compression driver coupled to a 90-degrees x 60-degrees CMD constant directivity horn and 8-inch woofer is a wide-dispersion, low profile loudspeaker designed for near field applications. Operating with a frequency range of 70Hz-20kHz, the C3108, the 300W-rated model has a sensitivity of 94dB/1W/1m.

The C3110 is a 10-inch version operating with a frequency range of 67Hz-20kHz, for which the 300W-rated model has a senstivity of 96dB/1W/1m. The 500W-rated C5212 and C5215 full range models are 12- and 15-inch models respectively, whilst the C4128 is a dual 8-inch version that has been designed for under balcony fills.
