Redrock Mini-Rigs keep it steady
Published: PRODUCTS

Promising to ‘take the best of cinema-style rigs’ then shrink them down to fit smaller and lighter cameras, the Mini Rigs range from Redrock Micro is now available. According to the manufacturer, the supports are intended to help users shoot professional-level video with mirrorless cameras, providing improved stability for the often small units.
The range offers three customisable configurations to suit ‘the most common shooting styles’, plus support options for attaching camera-top accessories. First is ‘Mini Handheld Rig’, to enable ‘run and gun’ shooting, with three points of contact to keep shots steady. Next, the ‘Mini Shoulder Rig’ is for all-day shoots and includes a self-levelling shoulder-pad. Finally, the ‘Mini Studio Rig’ is for more traditional set-ups using a tripod or dolly.
The systems are designed for use with smaller cameras such as the Sony Alpha A7S II, A7S, and A7R II; the Panasonic Lumix GH4 and GH3; and DSLR cameras such as the Canon 5D and 7D, and Nikon’s D810, D600 and D7000. Users can also customise the systems to suit individual requirements via the manufacturer’s range of accessories.
