Reporter microphone debuts from Røde

Australian manufacturer Røde has added a reporter’s microphone to its broadcast and A/V portfolio, naming it simply The Reporter.

Designed for handheld interviews and presentations, The Reporter features an omnidirectional dynamic capsule intended to avoid issues typical of directional end-address microphones. Additionally its frequency response has been tailored for voice reproduction.

Construction features include a durable die-cast aluminium alloy body coated in a matte black, anti-glare finish. A multi-layer mesh basket protects the microphone from environmental noise, meaning no foam windshield is required, while a removable microphone ‘flag’ is included for on-air branding.

Finally, the microphone comes with an automatic 12 month warranty that can be increased to 10 years.
