Route66 gets streamlined

BroaMan has announced three new versions of its Route66 router with a 2U design that the manufacturer states stems from customer feedback. The three new models possess single-channel, non-blocking 40 x 40 router ports with fibre SFP or SDI. The fibre ports can also reportedly be used to access built-in CWDM and DWDM multiplexers.
Of the three new versions, the first offers only fibre with 40 hot-swappable bi-directional SFPs, the second possesses 32 SFPs and 16 x SDI (8-In and 8-Out) while version three has 24 SFPs and 32 SDI (16-In and 16-Out). All three provide support for a variety of standards, including 3G, SDI, HD, 3G-SDI, ASI and Madi, and contain built-in redundant power supplies, which reportedly results in lower power consumption of 10-40W and operational cost-savings. The manufacturer has designed the new models with a passive cooling system to reduce noise and each device contains an Optocore network for IP monitoring and control, audio and intercom, routing and transport.
