RTi consolidates control environments
Published: PRODUCTS

Designed to be mounted on a countertop or under a cabinet, RTi’s latest wired interface, CX7, aims to consolidate control of a multitude of environments into a single box solution.
Designed primarily to be used with RTi control systems in hard-wired installations, the unit provides customised control over small and large A/V, environmental, and security systems, with a feature set that includes an adjustable tilt 7-inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen, analogue audio and video inputs, stereo speakers, wired and wireless Ethernet, and proximity and ambient light sensors. In future updates, a built-in camera and microphone will offer intercom capabilities.
The CX7 comes with a built-in power supply, but can also be supplied via Power over Ethernet (PoE). Its built-in high-output IR provides direct control of devices without the need for a separate control processor.
As well as the larger CX7, the manufacturer’s new KX1 In-Wall Keypad aims to take multiroom audio control to the next level by combining a 1.2-inch colour OLED display with support for two-way controls, allowing users to view cover art, song metadata, and more. The keypad has a sleek design and features seven customisable hard buttons for quick access to control functions, a backlit volume indicator, ambient light sensors, and an integrated Ethernat connection.
Lastly from RTi, A larger 3.5-inch colour LDC display has been released. The KX3 combines all of the features of its smaller sibling with an internal XP series control processor to provide two-way control via IP and RS-232, and an atomic clock. The unit’s built-in ZigBee antenna allows for connectivity with RTi wireless remotes. Other capapbilities include six sense ports, four relays for control via contact closure, an integrated microphone and camera, proximity and ambient light sensors and wifi.
