RTS Zeus III LE+ takes connectivity to the next level

Described as ‘taking connectivity and value to the next level’, RTS’ Zeus III LE+ is the company’s latest compact digital 16-channel intercom matrix.
New key features include two redundant power supplies from separate AC feeds and a USB port for system configuration using AZedit Intercom software. Also, Zeus III LE+ can communicate with an RTS trunked system using the dedicated DB-9 trunk connector with standard RS485 protocol.
Zeus III LE+ is said to offer more options for smaller-scale applications due to its 16 channels in/out and two configurable party line interface channels. The system features 16 standard RJ45 connectors, designed to make it easier to connect an intercom system with audio lines and keypanels by keeping the RTS wiring scheme. In addition, the two built-in relays can be used to control lighting or to key remote transmitters and paging systems.
The system also features a built-in party line interface that make it compatible with all major party line systems, including RTS, Telex Audiocom, and Clear-Com. Meanwhile, Ethernet and serial ports on the unit’s back panel allow it to be configured from virtually anywhere on a network using AZedit Intercom configuration software, while a USB port on the front panel offers direct access with AZedit.
Other features include an interface for an additional two channels of party line, two relay connections on the rear panel, and automatic addressing of keypanels when they are connected to the frame.
Also newly announced is the RTS VLink (Virtual Linked Intercom) system, a fully interconnected, DHCP-compliant virtual communications solution for RTS intercom systems. It is described by the manufacturer as providing an ‘unprecedented degree of control and flexibility from anywhere in the world’, enabling remote users to interface with RTS matrix intercoms via the Internet using a PC-based application.
There are two VLink systems available: the basic VLink-LE system which comprises a standalone software/server-based intercom providing limited interconnect functionality into any existing audio feed; and the premium VLink system which offers ‘intelligent’ trunking links into an RTS intercom matrix to provide full support for standard communications workflows. The fully DCHP compliant system can reportedly be scaled to any number of ports (in eight-port blocks).
