Rycote introduces new suspensions
Published: PRODUCTS
UK microphone windshield manufacturer Rycote has introduced its patented Lyre U-shaped clip into its stereo microphone suspensions.
The Lyre microphone clips will replace the diverse variety of hoops and elasticated suspensions on the majority of the manufacturer’s suspensions. The exceptions are the suspensions in Rycote’s mono and stereo extended ballgags, where Lyres will be introduced at a later date. There will be two types of mounting clip based on the Lyre design: a 'universal' clip accommodating round and flat-sided microphones from 19 to 25mm in diameter, and a 30mm Lyre clip for larger mics.
The manufacturer has also introduced a new entry-level aluminium Lightwave boom. It extends from 64cm to a maximum of 1.63m. Unlike the larger A5, it is not possible to run a cable inside the A3, but the new entry-level pole does feature the same patented quick release mechanism and reliable triple-cam locking system.
