Sennheiser introduces new line of DJ headphones

Sennheiser has introduced a new range of professional mixing and DJ headphones. The new HD6 Mix, HD7 DJ and HD8 DJ are designed for the ‘most demanding users and punishing professional environments’ and have been built on the legacy of the company’s HD 25 DJ headphones.

The HD8 DJ has been designed for professional DJs looking for superior sound fidelity, while the HD7 DJ provides a ‘dynamic sound’ especially suited for live performance. Both headphones promise to deliver a mid-low end emphasis whilst retaining clarity in the high frequencies. The HD6 meanwhile, is focused primarily at studio-based music creation and aims to deliver a balanced, accurate sound for mixing and monitoring work.

The DJ headphone range features elliptical shape ear cups to prevent pinching and interchangeable ear pads for comfortable listening. For one-ear monitoring, both DJ models come with a swivel feature providing up to 210-degrees of movement and three different wearing positions. Removable coiled and straight 3m high-performance cables are included. A bayonet twist lock enables a secure connection to the headphones.

Developed in conjunction with top DJs including Bob Sinclar, Luciano, Andy Baxter, Missill and Davina, the manufacturer claims that the three new DJ headphones deliver ‘excellent sound reproduction with the highest levels of external noise attenuation’.
