Simplified speaker cabling solution from Klotz
Published: PRODUCTS
SpeakerLink is the latest offering from Klotz Cables, and addresses the need for rapid, orderly speaker cabling for onstage use. According to the manufacturer, SpeakerLink can replace a host of cable adapters that would otherwise be needed and ‘significantly simplifies’ speaker cabling for stage or rigs.
SpeakerLink is bi-directional, and features Neutrik NLT8MP and NLT4MP SpeakON panel mount connectors. As the 'input box' behind the amps, it adapts up to four different speaker channels to an eight-pin SpeakON panel connector. This enables up to four speaker channels to be transmitted by a single speaker multicore.
On the speaker side, SpeakerLink acts as an 'output box' and adapts the speaker channels to four (passive LS) or two (two-way active) NLT4MP connectors. A circuit diagram printed on the SpeakerLink housing provides a sound crew with an immediate overview of the SpeakerLink's key technical details.
Based on the manufacturer’s StraightLink series, its housing consists of a base tray and superstructure in 1.5mm aluminium. The housing has eight holes to attach safety cables while the base has an M10 screw thread for a clamp.
Meanwhile, iceRock is the name of the new white microphone cable from Klotz Cables that employs white Neutrik connectors. Its rubber-like PVC jacket has been optimised to stay flexible even in extreme temperatures, with added cotton fibres that maintain consistent capacitance of 60pF/m under all conditions whilst avoiding interference.
Based on the manufacturer’s MY206 professional microphone cable, iceRock is tailored to withstand the rigorous requirements of day-to-day stage and studio use.
The white connectors not only match the cable colour, but also claim to guarantee high-quality signal transmission. An extra-dense spiral shield also delivers effective screening protection.
