Single-LED Elation fixture goes full circle

As the name suggests, Elation Professional’s ACL360i is a full 360-degree continuous moving head, differing from other models in the ACL Series in that it houses a single 60W RGBW LED with an advanced collimator optic lens that the manufacturer says is capable of producing a ‘tight and uniform’ 4-degree beam.

Delivering an output of 30,601 lux at 2m, the fixture is controllable via three DMX modes (16/18/20 channels) as well as by Remote Device Management (RDM), KlingNet or Art-Net. Connections and controls include 5-pin DMX I/Os, powerCon I/O and RJ-45 Ethernet I/O for KlingNet and Art-Net. A six-button touchpanel with a full-colour 180-degree reversible menu display enables navigation through DMX and manual settings and an auto-sensing power supply covers worldwide voltages and frequencies. Stated to provide a flicker-free operation for use on screen, the 5.2kg ACL360i’s compact size reportedly means it can be rigged with just one hand.

Also new from the American lighting manufacturer is the Platinum HFX, the latest addition to its hybrid fixture series. The Platinum HFX houses a Philips MDS Platinum 14R, 280W lamp offering 12,000 lumens. It is capable of zooming between 2.3- to 15-degrees in beam mode, 3- to 22-degrees in spot mode and 10- to 34-degrees in wash mode, as well as offering 13 dichroic colours, eight rotating-interchangeable gobos and 12 static-stamped gobos, three prisms and wash/frost effects.
