Snell has announced a further expansion of its IQ Modular 3G product range by launching a new video and audio processing platform and a new range of fibre-optic interfacing modules.
Together, these additions are designed to enable organisations to maintain flexibility in addressing the demands of multi-format and HD broadcasting.
The IQUAV10 video and audio processing platform is a compact, highly integrated processing engine suited to space-constrained applications. It provides flexible analogue and digital signal handling and ‘advanced’ video and audio processing. The platform's features include format conversion, synchronisation, audio embedding, de-embedding, aspect ratio conversion, video enhancement, legalisation, audio gain, delay, mixing, and channel routing.
The Modular 3G fibre solutions seamlessly address conversion between coax and fibre, which, according to Snell, means broadcast and media organisations can achieve the best compromise between space and cost as they extend their facility infrastructures.
The platform is available in configurations ranging from fully loaded systems to more cost-effective models with limited processing capabilities. This means that users have the flexibility to choose only the functionality and software-enabled features they need.
The new IQ Modular 3G range of fibre-optic interfacing modules combines electrical-to-optical conversion with critical processing functions such as video synchronising, audio embedding, and audio de-embedding. These single-slot solutions enable users to work with both coax and fibre in planning ‘cost-effective’ HD expansion and 3Gbps (1080p) signal delivery.
Snell's Central control and monitoring platform is fully integrated with these fibre solutions, providing monitoring of signal status. This enables monitoring of optical power budgets and triggers an alarm if levels fall below a preset threshold.
