Stanton leads arrivals with multi-format player
Published: PRODUCTS
Stanton recently debuted the CMP.800 multi-format player and Midi controller, which the manufacturer describes as granting DJs access to ‘their entire music library, regardless of format’.
Alongside more traditional formats, the CMP.800 can access and play songs from external thumb and hard drives with loaded MP3 and WAV files.
Other features offered by the player include Midi control of applications with full assignment of virtually every button and knob on the top panel as well as Deck A/B assignment; pitch-bend, looping and on-board effects such as echo, flanger and filter; storage for up to four 5s samples; and a ‘ChainLink’ function that allows users to daisy-chain two CMP.800s together and a single external USB mass storage device between the two. Physically, the unit boasts an illuminated platter wheel with nine different LED modes, while sample playback is controlled from four rubber trigger pads
Also newly announced is the SCS.4DJ, a ‘fully integrated digital DJ MixStation’ that offers a high degree of automated control. All of the software required by the unit is reportedly embedded into the system, so no additional communication cables or computers are required. Features include an automatic synchronisation feature and ‘Auto DJ’ mode. Supported formats include WAV, MP3 and AAC, while users have access to four USB ports, two of which are hidden within a compartment large enough for hard drives and media devices. Dual touch-sensitive, weighted platters with cue, scratch and pitch bend control are also included, alongside a 4.3-inch LCD.
Finally, the SCS.1 has been upgraded to offer expanded presets, new ASIO drivers, updated firmware and DaRouter software.
