Subwoofer arrangement optimised with EASE

The third version of AFMG’s EASE Focus simulation software adds the ability to model and array subwoofers. Ease Focus 3 follows the look of its predecessor and also offers features such as complex summation, performance improvements and result catching.
‘Users can now define and optimise any subwoofer arrangement and automatically compute the needed delays,’ said the audio software house. ‘Interaction between flown tops and subs on the ground can also be analysed by the complex summation feature.’
Other notable inclusions are the snap function, which simplifies the moving and stacking of loudspeakers and the polar entry feature, which allows venue coordinates and performance improvements to be inserted directly as read from laser distance meters and reportedly makes it possible to simulate up to 40 sound sources in a single project.
AFMG describes EASE Focus 3 as ‘future proofed’, with a communication interface for data transfer to DSP platforms built in. A plug-in architecture has been set up for rigging safety calculations and a multi-threading calculation engine to lay the foundation for managing large-scale projects and FIRmaker optimisation.
AFMG states that more than 60 brands will be fully compatible with EASE Focus 3, spanning the majority of the GLL database.
