Super Bass Extreme bass trap from Vicoustic

Promising ‘a more permanent solution for addressing low frequency issues’, Vicoustic has followed its recently launched tunable Vari Bass with the Super Bass Extreme panel.
The panel is described as ‘a pressure zone optimised absorption system’ that uses a range of mechanisms in a single panel to eradicate low frequency problems and control corner reflections, without deadening the sound like a standard foam bass trap.
Primarily intended for corner mounting, Super Bass Extreme’s wooden front design – providing mid-high absorption whilst acting as a diffuser – is based on the manufacturer’s flagship Wave Wood panel. This is combined with a membrane, two high-density foam layers and a micro-perforated rear panel, with 1mm holes, that acts as a Helmholtz resonator. According to Vicoustic, the design provides low frequency absorption between 60-125 Hz, and is most effective between 75-100Hz.
Each shipped box of Super Bass Extreme includes two of the panels, which the manufacturer recommends for use in smaller rooms. Further panels can be added as required. Five wood finishes are available.
