SymNet 2.0 streamlines user workflows
Published: PRODUCTS
Version 2.0 of the Symetrix SymNet Composer software for Edge and Radius processors has arrived with ‘a host of time-saving workflow enhancements’ and increased hardware support for select AtteroTech and Stewart Audio devices. As of this release, integrators reportedly no longer need Audinate’s Dante controller in addition to each manufacturer’s software packages, making Composer 2.0 ‘ the only programming environment needed to build a Dante networked system from start to finish’.
In the new version, remote control protocol can be accessed via TCP/IP and TCP/IP string output modules, reportedly simplifying integration with control devices and increasing the number of compatible control systems. Module input and output names can be automatically propagated to downstream modules, and presets can be created and edited without going off-line.
Adding to the existing 660+ DSP modules available in version 1, the new version adds a new Transient Suppressor module, to help clean up conference audio, and a new Trace Signal Path Forward feature follows the signal path through all Dante transmitters and receivers and reportedly reduces the time to understand, follow, and troubleshot large systems significantly.
In addition to the workflow enhancements, Composer 2.0 natively integrates select Dante third-party hardware supporting the discovery, signal routing, and other aspects of AtteroTech unDIO2x2 and unDX2IO, Stewart Audio AV25-2, and NetAV 2x2 devices.
