Tannoy DVS loudspeakers target interior design

Tannoy has launched the budget-friendly DVS Series, describing it as a ‘stylish’ new range of surface mount, full bandwidth loudspeakers aimed at fixed installation applications where an ‘interior design ethic’ is as important as audio quality.

Described as ‘highly durable and scruff resistant’, the range is comprised of the DVS 4, DVS 6 and DVS 8. Each is based around a point-source driver design comprising a 4-, 6-, or 8-inch mid-bass driver respectively, with a coaxially mounted 19mm high frequency section, all mounted within a lightweight injection moulded surface-mount enclosure manufactured from UV and weather resistant ABS material.

A transformer-equipped version of each model is also available, with an integrated low insertion loss line transformer for 70V or 100V distributed sound applications. The series is certified for water and dust ingress protection to IP64 standard and is currently pending UL Listed status (UL-1480 and UL-2043).

Meanwhile, the manufacturer has also revealed the CVS 8 full-bandwidth, large-format in-ceiling speaker system. Aimed at the budget conscious user, the compact 200mm mid-bass driver with a coaxially mounted 19mm high frequency section is specifically designed for applications requiring the combination of music and speech reinforcement at higher SPLs with consistent functionality and full bandwidth sound quality.

The CVS 8 is supplied with an integral painted steel back can, with recessed termination box, meeting installation application requirements. The removable locking connector has screw terminals for secure wire termination and ‘loop through’ facility. Strain relief is provided by a clamping mechanism for use with plenum rated cable or conduit.
