The HDTV-SDI range of Komby and Coaxial cables are from Italian manufacturer Tasker, which along with a range of additional new products, will appear at Frankfurt’s Prolight + Sound 2013 in April.
The range of new cables is suited to a wide variety of installation applications including theatres, television studios and outdoor events, and can also be applied to mobile units for use at special events for big screens and videowalls, in addition to recording and video production applications.
The family of single coaxial HDTV-SDI cables is comprised of four models, each featuring gas-injected dielectric insulators. The TSK1077 and the TSK1080’s outer diameter range from 4.0 to 10.2mm, and have been optimised to transfer digital video signals for distances up to 200m, promising ‘an excellent quality of transmission with very low attenuation’.
Each of these cables come with the choice of PVC outer sheaths or a PUR option for indoor and outdoor applications.
The T42 sec 18 AWG – Ømm 4,8/7,1, is Tasker’s latest gas-injected dielectric cable, and is a flexible and reliable model that has been specifically designed for mobile applications and outdoor use, with a range of up to 100m. Also included in the HDTV-SDI video cables series is the 24AWG-Ø mm. 2, 8/4, 5, whilst a key model in the digital audio cables category is the 26AWG.
All models employ a FirestoP sheath, and Tasker states that they are ideally suited for the cabling of multi screens, for videowall applications, for studio use and for A/V distribution racks. Despite the targeted applications, the manufacturer states that by providing an assortment of possible cabling solutions, the Komby series can in fact be used for any installation. Further key cables in this range include the TSK1091 and the TSK1096.
