Televic Interpreter System promises simple operation

A new interpreter system designed primarily with usability in mind has been announced by Belgium-based manufacturer Televic Conference. Reportedly the outcome of months of usability studies with free-lance and association interpreters, the Televic Interpreter Desk provides users with simple controls and visual feedback of all essential parameters while occupying up a minimum amount of desk space.
Part of the simplistic design hinges on the separation of interpreter buttons and controls from those required for additional system functionality, thereby maximising usability without the requirement for additional user training. The interface is kept uncluttered by providing feedback of parameters via a colour display on the front panel.
Functionality for remote operation has also been built into the unit for situations where interpreters are located elsewhere in the building and have no direct visual feedback. An integrated HDMI video output in combination with the Plixus Conference Network Technology also allows for an external video screen to display a lip-synced HD-quality image of the speaker.
