The 8NW900 leads Eighteen Sounds new releases

Italian loudspeaker manufacturer Eighteen Sound has produced the 8NW900, a new 8-inch neodymium LF transducer designed for line array applications and compact enclosures, in addition to horn loaded applications.

The external neodymium magnet assembly is designed to ensure high flux concentration, low power compression and excellent heat exchange. Owing to the 2.5-inch inside-outside split aluminium wire voice coil, the 8NW900 can handle up to 600W of program handling power. The transducer employs a Single Demodulating Ring (SDR) to reduce inter-modulation distortion and linearise the impedance curve on the mid-high frequency range. A larger 10-inch model is available in the form of the 10NW900, which has also been designed for low frequency line array applications and compact two-way vented enclosures. The external neodymium magnet assembly assures high flux concentration, low power compression and excellent heat exchange.

Meanwhile the 15LW2400 is a 15-inch ceramic magnet transducer, which is an evolution of the 15LW1401 LF transducer. It integrates a 4-inch diameter inside-outside ISV copper voice coil with a DSS Silicon Spider and can handle up to 2400W program handling power. The low distortion and sound quality has been enhanced with Double Demodulation Rings (DDR) technology, which reduces inter-modulation and harmonic distortion whilst improving transient response.

The 15NLW9401 is a new 15-inch neodymium extended LF loudspeaker with a 4-inch diameter voice coil, which is also equipped with a 4-inch diameter inside-outside ISV copper voice coil and DSS Double Silicon Spider, handling up to 2400W. The neodymium magnet assembly assures high flux concentration, low power compression and excellent heat exchange, resulting in high levels of force factor and power handling.

Available in 8- and 4-Ohm versions, the 21NLW9400 is a 21-inch neodymium subwoofer delivering 2400W. The transducer features include a unique Double Surround structure, specifically designed for controlling the membrane edge, in order to resist against mechanical deformation even in compact enclosure high pressure conditions. The whole suspension system offers a controlled transient response.

Finally, the XG14 is a new 1.4-inch throat entry line-array waveguide, developed to obtain optimum performances when coupled with 1.4-inch exit Eighteen Sound HF compression drivers. The transmission line acoustical design minimises internal reflections and acoustical losses, whilst the throat shape has been optimised for lowering air distortion.
