The Soundmakers goes back to basics with Elements Single Systems

HK Audio has gone mono with its Elements Single Systems. The four models that make up the family are mono, single column versions of the German manufacturer’s Elements solution designed to offer a more affordable entry point to the product family.
The Single Systems comprise different members of the existing Elements family. By differently pairing the two columns and two subwoofers in unique manners, the German manufacturer has created four portable system scenarios. The Easy Base Single is composed of two E 435 units, an E 110 A subwoofer and EP1 distance pole, whilst the Smart Base Single system utilises an E 110 AS subwoofer with an E 835 mid/high unit and EP distance pole. The Line Base Single negates the need for a mounting pole bar and consists of two E 835 speakers which can be augmented in the lower frequencies by adding a passive E 110 subwoofer. Finally, the Big Base Single is an extendable system that pairs the E 210 subwoofer with up to three E 835 tops and an added passive subwoofer should it be required.
Equipped with four 3.5-inch vertically-arrayed speakers, the E 435 mid/ high unit has been designed to create an even pattern of throw. Housed in aluminium and weighing 2.35kg, the 150W RMS (AES) rated column receives its power supply from the subwoofer via the E-Connect bus. Operating within a frequency response of 140Hz to 20kHz, the E 435 has a sensitivity rating of 97dB (1W at 1m) SPL. Donating the integration of eight 3.5-inch woofers, the E 835 is a 300W RMS rated column operating within the same frequency response. Measuring 110mm-wide x 745mm-high x 120mm-deep and weighing 4.5kg, the MF-HF section offers a 70-degree horizontal dispersion.
Weighing 36.7kg, the E 210 AS subwoofer incorporates dual 10-inch woofers that are capable of producing low frequencies down to 38Hz. Further equipped with two 1,200W RMS rated Class-D amplifiers to supply the E 210 AS and the pole-mountable MF/HF element respectively, connections are provided in the form of XLR Combo-In, XLR thru, two SpeakOn outs and two E-Connect outs. An RMS limiter, subsonic filter and DC/load/temperature protections are provided together with a thermal controlled fan. Operating down to 45Hz and weighing 18.5kg, the E110AS subwoofer is a single 10-inch model integrating two 600W rated Class-D amplifiers providing low frequency extension down to 45Hz.
A further release from the Soundmakers is its latest generation of Premium PR:O D active loudspeakers incorporating DSP-powered preamps and Class-D power amplifiers.
The PR:O 10 XD combines a 10-inch woofer with a horn loaded 1-inch compression driver producing 90-degrees x 55-degrees directivity, which can be deployed as a stage monitor. Capable of producing a maximum SPL of 131dB, the PR:O 10D is equipped with an XLR/¼-inch Combo Input, balance and an XLR thru, together with peak/RMS limiters, a tone knob bass boost and a FIR crossover.
The PR:O 12 D and PR:O 15 D versions are standalone speakers that incorporate 12- and 15-inch woofers that boast similar feature sets and are capable of producing maximum SPLs of 132dB and 130dB respectively. The PR:O 12 XD and PR:O 15 XD models provide added versatility for stage monitoring or satellite applications in addition to deployment as a full range speaker.
