The bespoke needs of individual applications means that a diverse product portfolio is required to cater to all eventualities. Christie has taken a step towards achieving this with additions to a variety of its product families that tackle specific issues. This includes solutions for quiet running, image quality, resolution and long-term high performance.
Starting with quietness, the HS Series is a new two-member line from Christie which the manufacturer describes as ‘the quietest 10,000+ lumens laser phosphor projector on the market’. The series comprises the D12HD-HS and D12WU-HS which respectively deliver HD and WUXGA resolution. The range is reportedly capable of 360-degree orientation and portrait mode with colour matching. It also features built-in blending, warping and stacking software.
A second release sees the expansion of the manufacturer’s Q Series of 1DLP projectors with two additional models. The range has been added to with the DWU1052-Q and DHD1052-Q which both reportedly feature improved warping and blending. The new Christie Q Series models also feature a built-in automated dual colour wheel to select between two performance colour wheels.
Moving up in scale and providing a focus on resolution are the three additions to the manufacturer’s Boxer family. The models all provide 2K resolution but differ in providing 20,000, 25,000 and 30,000 centre lumens. Added to the 4K 30,000 centre lumens model, the new family members mean the manufacturer can now offer choices based on resolution, brightness and budget requirements with an upgrade path to higher brightness, resolution and performance capabilities.
Moving away from projectors, the final series to gain an extra option is Velvet with the Apex range of LED tiles which has been designed for 24/7 critical viewing applications. The Apex series features 1.2mm and 1.6mm pixel pitch options, a new slim design, 100 per cent front-serviceability, 16x9 aspect ratio, native HD and UHD resolutions and the Macroblock Hawkeye Solution Platform for long-term image uniformity, quality, and performance.
