TSL offers real time logging with PAM PiCo Five

TSL Professional Products Ltd has introduced the PAM PiCo Five audio and loudness meter, which allows for real time logging of all relevant loudness parameters including high and low loudness levels, peak level and corresponding peak channel, as well as integrated loudness. The PAM PiCo Five is suited for smaller facilities, OB trucks, and is an attractive tool for major broadcasters looking for an enhanced and flexible solution at a reasonable cost.

The new logging software application provides instant documentation, visualisation and evaluation of any source passing through the meter unit. The software package offers a logging session database allowing session data to be safely stored, indentified and instantly searched for quick retrieval.

Also new from the brand is the new X-1 combined upmix/downmix processor, the DSF-B digital broadcast microphone system and the UPM-1 stereo to 5.1 processor.

Starting with the SoundField X-1 multi-channel combined upmix/downmix processor, this provides a flexible, transparent interoperability between 5.1 and stereo audio controllable from any PC. Designed for the rigors of on-air use, the X-1 is fitted with a redundant power supply and can be implemented as either a ‘set and forget’ processor, or as a fully adjustable real-time upmixer and downmixer.

Meanwhile, the SoundField DSF-B digital broadcast package, consisting of a DSF-2 surround microphone, DSF-2 controller and DSF-3 processor, provides simultaneous digital surround and stereo soundscapes of large-scale outside broadcast events such as sports stadia and concert halls. It removes the need for multiple arrays, generating multi-channel audio from a single point source.

Moving on to the SoundField UPM-1, this has been optimised for a broadcaster that needs to match legacy stereo soundtracks with contemporary 5.1 commercials and programming.

Lastly, the manufacturer has launched enhanced performance versions of its entry-level MPA1-ASB and MPA1-ASC audio confidence monitoring units, now available in dual stereo or eight stereo input versions and built around a brand new hardware platform. Enhancements include upgraded power amplifiers and speakers for improved clarity, as well as a master volume control.
