Universal Audio interfaces to provide rich quality

Universal Audio has announced the release of UAD-2 Satellite Duo and Quad Firewire DSP Accelerator interfaces, described them as providing ‘a rich, vintage sound quality.’
Available in duo or quad processor format (with either two or four Analogue Devices Sharc processors respectively), the five models to choose from are the Duo, Duo Flexi, dual Quad, Quad Flexi, and the Quad Omni v5.7, which includes 50 UAD plug-ins. The UAD-2 Satellite’s UAD Powered Plug-ins library is compatible with Firewire 800 and 400-equpiied computers, and no PCIe card installation is required.
Suitable for use with iMacs and MacBook Pros, the UAD-2 Satellite family combine DSP acceleration with the operation simplicity of Firewire 800/400. The UAD-2 can run larger mixes in Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Nuendo, Perfomer without taxing the host computer CPU.
