Update for Soundcraft Vi Series delivers input capacity increase
Published: PRODUCTS
Version 4.7 software for Soundcraft’s Vi Series of digital consoles has been released, substantially increasing the input capacity for the Vi4 while adding Virtual Vi software to the Vi1.
Following the update the Vi4 can handle 96 inputs to mix, bringing it in line with the Vi2 and Vi6 models, while show-files are now fully compatible between the Vi2, Vi4 and Vi6 consoles. To take advantage of the 96 inputs to mix on the Vi4, Soundcraft reports that three DSP cards must be fitted to the local rack. Vi4 consoles with only two DSP cards will be uplifted to 64 inputs to mix, from 48.
The update also adds the Virtual Vi offline editor for the Vi1 console, plus EQ width control options in Q or octaves delay unit settings in milliseconds, metres or feet and inches.
The update is available for download from the Soundcraft website.
