VB Audio upgrades MT128

Software manufacturer VB Audio has announced the latest upgrade to its MT128 digital multi-track recorder with the addition of the Sound Pad audio editor.

The introduction of the Sound Pad module to the MT128, reportedly allows the product to undertake several previously unavailable tasks. According to the manufacturer, the module can operate independently of the MT128 recording and playback workflow, but is fully integrated into its project management, routing, timeline and remote control capabilities. Developed as a sample reader, it can reportedly launch sounds for instant playback in a variety of ways – via a touchscreen, Midi keyboard, fader start or GPIO. It supports all audio file formats and all sampling rates from 8KkHz to 192kHz.

Import and editing functions have reportedly been designed so that they don’t interfere with ongoing operations, allowing the user to mount and launch sounds immediately without disturbing the current workflow. The unit features a Midi learn function, a play/stop button for controlling the MT128 playback and cue functions, and also provides its own RAM sampling function in order to capture sounds from another connected hardware player.

VB Audio claims that the product is an ‘ideal tool for TV studios, OB trucks or any other live broadcast situation, as well as for live events and theatre productions’.
