VidaBox has announced the release of its iPad-controlled LiivController with vAutomation 2.0.
According to the manufacturer, when powered by VidaBox's new vAutomation 2.0 control platform, LiivController allows any iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch to access any equipment via Wi-Fi, turning these devices into touch screen interfaces for any system component via IR, TCP/IP, and RS-232.
Combining automation controls and multi-room audio into one ‘cost-effective’ system, the vAutomation 2.0 platform can also be used to control any VidaBox media centre, giving users access to Blu-rays, DVDs, Netflix, whilst allowing them to browse through their media in the cover-flow style familiar to Apple users.
The ‘versatile’ LiivController LC-200 also controls four zones of synchronised multi-room audio, without the need for additional matrix switchers.
Running on 36W, this A/V automation controller and music server provides built-in internet radio support, in addition to a variety of devices with two-way feedback. Audio can be streamed from stored music collections from any device across the network.
The LiivController unit features seven 3.5mm ports that can be used as IR, video sensor, contact closure sensor, or voltage sensor ports. The systems feature built-in IR learners and are expandable using Global Cache devices.
