Waves Audio unveils automatic microphone mixer

Waves Audio has released the new MultiRack Native and MultiRack SoundGrid compatible Dugan Automixer plug-in.
Designed to emulate the widely used Dugan Speech System Automatic Mixing Controllers, the new Dugan plug-in also utilises the same proprietary voice-activated process as the original. Preventing feedback and excessive noise pickup, it is capable of automatically controlling the gain of multiple live microphones in real time, and can maintain the gain of one mic in the room even when multiple speakers are talking simultaneously. The manufacturer claims that it produces ‘perfectly matched transparent cross-fades’.
Waves states that it is ideally suited to broadcast news and discussion panels, dialogue recording, houses of worship, teleconferencing and distance learning. Unfortunately, it’s not set to be included in any of Waves bundles at the moment. However, it is available to buy separately.
