Wohler Technologies adds to iAM

Wohler Technologies iAM-Video multichannel audio and video monitoring and metering device is the latest in the company’s iAM series. It joins the recently-released iAM-Mix multichannel audio and monitor mixer, as well as the iAM-Audio audio monitor. The company has also announced the launch of the AMP1-8-M dual input SDI 8-channel and AMP1-2SDA 2-channel audio monitors.
The iAM-Video is essentially an iAM-Audio with extended video monitoring, displaying video on a front panel touchscreen and managing a range of sources including 3G-SDi, MPEG-IP, MPEG-ASI, Quad-Link UHD/FK, SMPTE 2022, and 12G-SDI video. Additionally, supported video and metering inputs consist of analogue, AES3 and Madi. Options for video-over-IP formats also include MPEG2/4 TS and SMPTE 2022, with AoIP formats featuring Dante, Ravenna and AES67, 3G/HD/SD-SDI and a range of additional I/O options via an SFP interface. The device also contains front mounting speakers and subwoofers.
It is available in 1U and 2U form factors, and includes an on-board web server. Multiple units of the same network can be updated, monitored and controlled via the browser-based user interface that supports configuration with role-based authentication, protecting critical configurations from unauthorised alteration. Navigate menus and configuration settings can also be accessed through the unit’s touchscreen panel. Furthermore, the unit can be controlled by third party software via an application programme interface.
Meanwhile, the AMP1-8-M offers monitoring of SDI audio for a range of applications, such as in-studio or remote productions, enabling the selection and summing of any grouping of the first four SDI audio pairs. It boasts adjustable volume and balance controls, level displays and phase indications on 2.4-inch LED-backlit LCD displays, with configurations that can be created, saved and recalled via Ethernet connection using a PC interface. Users can monitor audio through built-in speakers, headphones or analogue outputs with optional muting for internal speakers.
The AMP1-2SDA also offers essential audio monitoring capabilities, but in a more compact 1RU two-channel version intended for use in OB vans and network facilities. This design is stated to allow users to select from any available channel pair to monitor. The unit can monitor audio via its built-in speakers or headphones with automatic internal speaker muting when headphones are connected. It also offers several input options, including 3G, HD, SD-SDI, Analogue and AES3.
