2016 NAMM TEC awards winners announced

WORLD: The winners of the 2016 NAMM Show TEC Awards have been announced. A total of 31 members have been handed awards for their creative and technical achievements. Four companies, Avid, iZotope, Shure and Solid State Logic, won multiple awards in the Technical Achievement category, while Don Was presented with a Les Paul Award and Jeff ‘Skunk’ Baxter and Gary Kellgren were inducted into the TEC Awards Hall of Fame.
‘This gathering of the music technology and pro audio world at NAMM helps to complete the full spectrum of music making tribes at the NAMM Show,’ said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. ‘The NAMM TEC Awards are the opportunity to recognise the inventors, creatives, musicians and brands who are fueling the next wave of innovation behind how the world experiences music and sound.’
Technical achievement awards were presented to Antelope Audio for its Satori Monitoring Controller, Ruper Neve Designs for the RNDI: Active Transformer Direct Interface, PreSonus for its Notion 2 for iOS smartphone app, Universal Audio for the Apollo 8p Thunderbolt 2 audio interface, Shure for its Motiv MV88 iOS condenser mic and 5575LE 75th anniversary vocal mic, Eventide for the H9 MAX, Moog Music for its Modular Recreation, iZotope for Iris 2 and the RX 4 audio repair and enhancement suite, Zoom for the F8 field recorder, SSL for the 500-format LMC+ , AMS Neve for its RMX16 digital reverb plugin for UAD-2, Avid for the Pro Tools I S3 and Pro Tools 12, Meyer Sound for the Leopard line array, Genelec for its 8351A Smart Active Monitors and Sennheiser for Evolution Wireless D1.
