2017 TECnology Hall of Fame inductees revealed

WORLD: The NAMM Foundation has unveiled the eight inventions that will be inducted into the TECnology Hall of Fame as part of the 2017 class. The ceremony takes place on Saturday 21st January from 2pm to 4pm in Room 202A of the Anaheim Convention Center at The NAMM Show and will be presented by The NAMM Museum of Making Music with George Petersen serving as host.
Those chosen to enter the Hall of Fame are deemed as ‘revolutionary products that redefined the audio experience for the industry’ as well as being considered ‘innovations that have made a significant contribution to the advancement of audio technology’. All entries must be at least 10 years old to be considered for the honour.
The 2017 inductees are: the 1954 Decca Tree; Neumann’s 1960 U67 condenser microphone; The Wah-Wah Pedal, from 1966; 1976’s TASCAM 80-8; The Wendel Drum Machine, developed by Roger Nichols in 1978; API Audio’s Lunchbox 500-series from 1985; the Neutrik SpeakOn connector, released in 1987; and AEA’s 1998 R44-C ribbon microphone.
