Trott away from Music Group

WORLD: Following a year and three months tenure creating a roadmap for Music Group, Andy Trott has stepped down from his role as senior vice president of the manufacturer’s professional division (Klark Teknik, Lab.gruppen, Midas, Tannoy, TC Electronic and Turbosound). In what was described as the first senior appointment for the ‘freshly restructured and customer-centric organisation’ in October 2015, Mr Trott leaves Music Group having seen a ‘huge amount of progress’. He furthered this by stating ‘I feel privileged to have met and worked with so many wonderful, talented and driven people’.
In the 13 years prior to Music Group, Mr Trott was a leading figure at Harman where he most recently served as the VP and GM of the mixer, microphones and headphones division (MM&H SBU).
In a message to his colleagues Mr Trott stated: ‘Uli is a remarkable leader who I thoroughly respect and fully anticipate will lead Music Group to a wonderful future. His outlook on business, technology and futures makes Music Group a different and exciting company.’ As the self-styled chief disruptor, Uli Behringer has enticed many leading industry figures into senior positions with the manufacturer, including Costa Lakoumentas, Arie van den Broek and Michael Deeb to name but a few.
In other news, an undisclosed number of settlements have reportedly been made with long term employees at Tannoy’s headquarters and factory in Coatbridge. Music Group had previously notified its workers in May 2016 that operations at Coatbridge would cease following the conclusion of a 30-day redundancy consultation period. However, the manufacturer is keen to state that production of high-end Tannoy hi-fi speakers will now remain in Scotland.
