Barix offers pay-as-you-go SoundScape subscription

WORLD: Barix has announced a new subscription model for its SoundScape music and advertising platform. According to the manufacturer, the new model will lower long-term expansion costs and ‘pave the way for monetised strategies in retail and hospitality’. The model’s starter package, which includes licenses for the first 50 audio players, removes annual contracts in favour of monthly credit card payments and a faster return on investment.
‘SoundScape’s monthly subscription model eliminates the upfront investment, and frees service providers and end users from the shackles of expensive contracts that have long deterred businesses from turning “in-store radio” into a true revenue-generating service,’ said Reto Brader, Barix VP of sales. ‘Furthermore, since many retailers and hospitality venues seek to outsource business audio delivery, service providers can position SoundScape as a managed service to their end customers. This allows systems integrators to capitalise on the growing demand for full service offerings.’
SoundScape is described as a fully formed software-as-a-service (SaaS) that brings together cloud-based content management, end point playout and global monitoring capabilities into a single package. Features include dynamic content scheduling, remote device management, system-wide reporting and monitoring, hierarchical user permissions and options for live and scheduled streaming.
