Cobalt Digital and Pesa team-up for joint solutions

WORLD: Cobalt Digital has formed a partnership with Pesa to enable integration between their products and to create bundled solutions. The alliance is built on Cobalt’s essential terminal and convergence products complementing Pesa's routing and control products.
‘Cobalt's essential terminal and convergence products are synergistic with Pesa's routing and control products,’ said Bob McAlpine, Cobalt Digital’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. ‘This strategic partnership plays to both of our technical strengths, benefitting all markets with overall competitive bundled solutions comprised of quality products that integrate specialised technology.’
The relationship has begun with Cobalt integrating its BBG-1070 multiviewer with Pesa’s Cougar and Cheetah routers. The integration reportedly enables ‘plug-and-play’ functionality for both systems, with Pesa’s Cattrax software control GUI displaying all information and parameters.
‘Cobalt brings skills, relationships, and a product portfolio that wonderfully complements Pesa’s offerings,’ added senior vice president, sales and business development, John T Wright at Pesa. ‘Going forward, our joint knowledge and experience will bring to market innovative and exciting products for our clients.’
The partnership will also allow for joint sales opportunities, as well as the potential for cross selling each other’s products. ‘From a business standpoint, we'll be able to unify our sales teams and open up new market opportunities for both of our respective product lines,’ explained Mr McAlpine of Cobalt Digital. ‘Cobalt is a dominant broadcast/sports market seller, while Pesa dominates government, corporate, educational, and industrial markets. Our companies will cross-pollinate those markets with more cost-effective and technologically attractive bundles.’
